The Westward migration was mainly caused because of people going silver and gold mining and because of cattle ranching. The Transcontinental Railroad and the Homestead Act were also reason of migrating to the West.

Answers: The Homestead Act, the Transcontinental Railroad, cattle ranching, and mining were reasons of the migration.

Hope that helps! -UF aka Nadia
