A steel water tank is a cylinder with a diameter of 30 ft and a height of 18 ft. How many square feet of steel were needed to make the tank?

Please give me the steps to doing this problem!

You need to use the surface area formula, A= 2 π r h+ 2 π r^2

The radius is half the diameter of 30 feet. Plug in the values, and you should get 119.38, but I'm not 100% sure if it wants both sides, because that's what surface area is. If you only want the outside, half it, getting 59.69. hope it helps
