International environmental treaties or 'agreements' are considered very important since they allow countries to work together and help one another with issues concerning the environment. These issues are of global nature, which means that it concerns or must concern all countries. It is always better to think together because this way governments can benefit from numerous points of view and reach a more solid course of action. Issues such as climate change, global warming, deforestation and the protection of the ozone layer are all global in nature. For instance, the Paris Agreement, is an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to reduce greenhouse-gas emitions. Their goal is to keep the rise in global temperature below 2 °C.
