A compound event is one in which there is more than one possible outcome. Determining the probability of a compound event involves finding the sum of the probabilities of the individual events and, if necessary, removing any overlapping probabilities. Probability is the likelihood that an event will occur.

Answer:

A compound event is an event that can happen in multiple ways means the event has multiple outcomes. For example - rolling a single die where it is asked to find the probability of rolling a 3 or an odd number. These events can happen at the same time so they are are inclusive.

We can also say, that compound event means to find the probability of more than one event occurring at the same time.
