Accommodation is a state of balance between cooperation and conflict. It is the process of working out a solution to a problem. There are four types of accommodation:
Compromise: when two parties involved in a conflict agree to give up something to reach an agreement.
Truce: a temporary halt to conflict until an agreement can be reached.
Mediation: involves a third party who acts as an advisor to help the two people reach a compromise.
Arbitration: when a third party settles the disagreement by making a decision that the conflicting parties must accept and abide by.
