How can you find an unknown in an equation for: addition, subtraction, multiplication or division problem?

The unknown number ( that is usually replaced by a variable, which is a letter) is found several ways depending on the art of the problem you are solving. You can use the method of substitution ( substituting random numbers into the problem) or you can set the problem up by subtracting or adding on both sides.
