To find an equivalent expression, you can distribute the 4 to the parenthese. To do this, multiply the four by each term separately, then add all of the resultant terms.

4*x=4x
4*7y=28y

Therefore, the answer is 4x+28y

Hope this helps

Hey there!

4(x + 7y)

DISTRIBUTE 4 WITHIN the PARENTHESES

= 4(x) + 4(7y)

= 4(1x) + 4(7y)

= 4x + 28y

Therefore, your answer is: 4x + 28y

Good luck on your assignment & enjoy your day!
