if we take the base as x, then the height is 2+x inches...
now by formula,
x X (x+2)/2 = 12
x^2 + 2x = 24
x^2 + 2x - 24 =0..
on factorising we get either x=4 or x=-6(rejected because negative)

therefore x=base=4 inches and height = 2+4=6 inches

Hello there.

Question: A triangle has a height that is 2 inches taller than its base and am area of 12 square inches. What are the dimensions of the triangle.?

Answer: First you need to know the formula for it.
base x height / 2
So first find numbers that have a difference of two yet multiply to 24.
I got 6 and 4.
6 x 4 = 24
6 - 4 = 2

In short, the base is 4 and the height is 6.

Hope This Helps You!
