Drinking a great deal of water will contribute to keep you from being dehydrated so you don't strain any of your muscles muscles. Caffeine and liquor will do the inverse of that and that's why you should avoid them.

If you mouth keeps moving, you'll keep it in a state where it feels more loose, making it easier to enunciate words in a more precise way. Also, making noises with your voice warm up the vocal chords.

Stretching to breathe might raise awareness of proper breathing and raising your arms might help you engage your diaphragm.
