  • Passive processes: It's when is formed on the surface without a directly formation by ice movement, in this process can be formed hummocky moraines, this types of moraines has cross-stratification in its structure.

  • Active processes: It's when a moraine is formed directly by the movement of ice, that process is called glaciotectonism.

moraine is material on the surface of a glacier. Lateral and medialmoraines can be supraglacial moraines. Supraglacial moraines are made up of rocks and earth that have fallen on the glacier from the surrounding landscape.
