The percentage error of Shaun's estimate is 44%

Here, we want to get the percentage error

We can get this by using the formula below;

\frac{error}{\text{actual value}}\text{ }*\text{ 100\%}

We have the error as the difference between the estimated value and the actual value

The difference is;

1,788\text{ - 1,000 = 788}

The percentage error is;

(788)/(1,788)\text{ }*\text{ 100 \% = 44.07 }

This is approximately 44%
