The length of
(1)/(4) is
2 (7)/(16) feet.

To figure this out all we have to do is change
9(3)/(4) to a decimal, which would be 9.75. Since we are looking for
(1)/(4) of our original number, we can just divide it by 4 to find our answer.

In decimal form we get 2.4375, which is equal to

2(7)/(16) in mixed number form or

(39)/(16) in exact form.

Although I think the answer you are looking for is in mixed number form:
2(7)/(16)

Thank you for the question! I hope this helped! Have an amazing day :D
