it says "Stephanie AND her 8 friends" so she forgot to include herself. if you divide 483 by 9, you get 53.6666667, which rounds to 54. hope this helps!

If you take 54 skittles and multiply that by 8 you would get 432 which would not equal 483 so she would have 51 skittles left over which would not be correct so if you divide 483 by 8 everyone would get 60 skittles
