When a crystal of sodium chloride is dissolved in water, the oxygen ends of the water molecules are attracted to what part of the sodium chloride

In this situation, the oxygen atoms of the water molecules would be attracted to the sodium atoms from the sodium chloride because oxygen has a charge of -2 and sodium has a charge or +1 (opposite signs attract).

Hope this helps

Sodium. Oxygen is electronegative and hece pulls bonding electron towards oxygen atom, creating a partial negative charge on the oxygen atom. As unlike charges attract, it is then attracted to the positively charged sodium ion.
