Solve for x 3(x+1)=2x+1

Steps:
3(x+1)=2x+1
Distribute the 3 to the x and 1 to get rid of the parenthesis, 3(x) and 3(1)
3x+3=2x+1
Subtract 2x from each side so you only have one x variable remaining (the 2x on the right cancels out) . 3x-2x
x+3=1
Now to get the x alone you’ll want to subtract 3 from both sides so it will cancel out on the left and you will be left to subtract 1-3
X=-2
