8) If an object is in motion, does that mean that the object has a net force in the direction of that motion? Explain

It depends since there are two kinds of motion.
The first could be due to acceleration of the object, and by Newton's second law, acceleration and the net force will point in the same direction.
The second kind of motion is constant speed which means no net forces are acting on the object as it is moving.
