Let us have the algebraic expression of each of the options;

a) 3 times n subtracted from 4

That would be 3 (4-n)

b) 3 times the difference of n and 4

That would be 3(n-4)

c) the difference of 4 and 3 times n

That would be n(4-3)

d) the product of n and four minus 3

That would be (4*n)-3 = 4n-3

As we can see, only the second option gave us the correct algebraic expression and is thus our answer
