The production of energy is directly linked to the emission of CO2 (one greenhouse gas), this is because in order to produce energy a huge amount of fossil fuels are burned, releasing CO2 (carbon dioxide) into the atmosphere.
So in order to reduce the amount of CO2 released we can make some small changes into our daily energy consumption and all together have a significant impact.
Some examples of these changes are:
• Turn down the heat at home when possible
,
• Turn off lights and appliances when they are not being used.
,
• Choose to buy energy efficient appliances
,
• Use LED lights
,
• Choose renewable energy sources over sources that use fossil fuels
