How did
Kennan may have influenced the Truman Doctrine

Kennan thought if he provided aid to countries that were suffering econommically and might soon have to go into the soviet union, he could build them up and therefore they could stand up against communism.

The Truman Doctrine that ruled the United States to foreign policy was based on the American diplomat George F. Kennan's strategy of containment. It´s a military policy to contain the communist expansion of soviet union without a nuclear war. This was the central post-war theory of the US and its allies in dealing with the Soviet Union. Truman hoped to stop the spread of communism, limiting the system to countries in which it already existed.
