Collectivization of agriculture was a significant development executed by Stalin. He launched the Collectivization of agriculture to boost the production of agricultural crop. Consequently, in the method of Collectivization of agriculture, the smallholdings were absorbed into large estates known as the kolkhoz. Those cultivators who cultivated their land independently were treated unsympathetically by Stalin. There were two reasons why he adopted this scheme; first, he desired to engage the agricultural labor in the industrial sector by using modern technology of farming and the surplus generated by new technology will be used to meet the expanses of new industries.
