6n = 30 + 3(n - 4)
6n = 30 + 3n - 12 because you simplified the parenthesis
then subtract 12 form 30 to simplify equation
6n = 18 + 3n
then subtract 3n from both sides
6n - 3n = 18 + 3n -3n
3n = 18
than simplify the equation: divide both sides by 3
n = 6
