Answer: Diameter = 12 meters

Area =
113.04\text{ m}^2

Explanation:

Given : The distance around a circle is 37.7 meters long.

Also, the distance around the circle is named as circumference of circle .

Circumference of circle is given by :-

C=2\pi r\\\\\Rightarrow\ 37.7=2(3.14)r\\\\\Rightarrow\ r=(37.7)/(2(3.14))=6.00318471338\approx6

Thus , the radius of the circle is 6 meters.

Then, diameter =
2r=2(6)=12\text{ meters}

Area of circle is given by :-

A=\pi r^2\\\\\Rightarrow\ A=(3.14)(6)^2=113.04\text{ m}^2

Hence, Diameter = 12 meters

Area =
113.04\text{ m}^2
