In order to estimate the mean number of pencils that campers at his camp carry in their backpacks, Leonard randomly selects 50 out of the 200 campers at his camp and counts the number of pencils in their backpacks. Will this likely give an accurate estimate of this mean? Select from the drop-down menus to correctly complete the statement.

Leonard's method is....likely or Not likely....to give an accurate estimate of this mean since.......he did not did not include data for every camper...OR.....His sample is randomly selected from campers at his camp

Answer:

Ok, Let us suppose , that 200 class X th students are going for excursion from their school.Their class teacher told them to bring Prog from their home. Teacher Randomly decides to check, Has all students bought Lunch boxes or Prog?

So, teacher started calling names of students, who were not notorious, neither naughty. The total number of students who were chosen whether they had bought lunch or not was 55. Is this will give better estimate that how many students has bought lunch with them on the day of journey?

I think yes, because Checking all students is a long as well as tedious process. So Selecting 50 or 55 students among 200 students will give better as well as accurate estimate of mean.

So, Leonard randomly selects 50 out of the 200 campers at his camp and counts the number of pencils in their backpacks.

Leonard's method is likely to give an accurate estimate of this mean since His sample is randomly selected from campers at his camp.
