The most important effect of the u.s. participation in the korean war was that Truman had committed U.S. troops to battle without a congressional declaration of war.

The Korean War was a short but bloody war with more than five million casualties.

The Korean War was a war between North Korea, supported by China and the Soviet Union; and South Korea which received the support of the United Nations, with the main support from the United States (US).
