The correct answer is the first choice: scientists want to be able to share their data with one another. Often various scientists to multiple trials to test a hypothesis, and having more data for comparison can be beneficial

A,B and D are true, but only A is relevant to the question, so A is the correct answer. I have a book with about 10,000 conversion factors, and often they are confusing, so having lots of standards causes expensive errors. Neil
