slope = ( 10 - 2) / (3-1) = 8/2 = 4
y = mx + b
2 = 4(1) + b
b = -2
equation
y = 4x - 2
x-intercept y =0
4x - 2 = 0
x = 1/2
y-intercept x = 0
y = - 2
