so it would go like this.
-4n+24=12 , you are using the distributive property and 2 negatives make a positive
then subtract 24 from 12 like so:
-4n=12-24
-4n=-12
then divide by -4
-4n/-4n=-12/-4n
and you get the answer:
n=3
