2x^2 - 9x + 16 = 6
2x^2 - 9x + 16 - 6 = 0
2x^2 - 9x + 10 = 0
(2x - 5)(x - 2) = 0

2x - 5 = 0
2x = 5
x = 5/2
x = 2.5

x - 2 = 0
x = 2

answer x = 2 and x = 2.5

Simple...

you have:
2x^(2) -9x+16=6

To even begin, set all terms to the left side and set the parabola equal to zero-->>

2x^(2) -9x+10

Now, you can factor!

What multiplies to 20 and adds to -9?

-5*-4=20

-5+-4=-9

Then, using the box method...

x=
(5)/(2) ,2

Thus, your answer.
