3 1/2 = 14/4

14/4-3/4x=0
-3/4x= -14/4
x= 4 2/3
She can make 4 bows with 2/3 of a yard left over.

Answer:
4(2)/(3)

Explanation:

Given: The length of the piece of ribbon =
3(1)/(2)\ yards=(7)/(2)\ yards

The length of ribbon required to make a bow =
(3)/(4)\ yards

Now, the number of bows can be made in the given piece of ribbon =
(7)/(2)/(3)/(4)

=(7)/(2)*(4)/(3)=(14)/(3)=4(2)/(3)

Hence, the number of bows can be made in the given piece of ribbon =
4(2)/(3)
