Data:

P (perimeter) = 500 feet
W (width) = 90 feet
L (length) = ?

Formula:

P = 2*(L + W) or P = L + L + W + W

Solving:
P = 2*(L + W)
500 = 2*(L + 90)
500 = 2L + 180
2L = 500 - 180
2L = 320
L =
(320)/(2)

\boxed{\boxed{L = 160}} \end{array}}\qquad\quad\checkmark

Answer:
the length is 160 feet
