What is the solution to the linear equation?

2/3x -1/2=1/3+5/6x
A. x=-5

assuming 2/3x = 2/(3x)...

2/3x - 1/2 = 1/3 + 5/6x

- 2/6 - 3/6 = 5/6x - 4/6x

-5/6 = 1/6x

-5x = 1

x = -1/5 <---- this is not an answer so I'll assume you meant:

assuming 2/3x = (2x)/3...

2x/3 - 1/2 = 1/3 + 5x/6

- 2/6 - 3/6 = 5x/6 - 4x/6

-5/6 = x/6

x = -5

The answer is A
