2 is same as 8/4, you then add 3/4 to 8/4 by adding together the numerators,
3+8=11.
3/4 +8/4
3+8=11 and keep the 4 and you'll get the answer 11/4

2 is the same as 8/4. you then add 3/4 to 8/4 by adding together the top numbers, or numerators.
3+8=11.
