18 students chose math because 8 times 3 is 24 which is the nimber of students that prefer reading. Since 24 students enjoy reading 6 less than 24 is 18. Which is the amount of students which prefer math.

So basically we do 8x3 = 24
Then minus 6 which makes 18. And the answer is 18 students picked math.
