First you need to do 3 - 1.2 = 1.8m to get the amount of timber left over. Then you divide by 6 which would equal 0.3m. Because it asks for the answer in centimeters, you need to multiply 0.3 by 100 to get 30cm. I hope this helps!

3 - 1.2 = 1.8
1.8 ÷ 6
= 0.3 m
0.3 × 100 = 30 cm
