When you divide a whole number by a decimal less than one, the quotient is greater than the whole number. Why?

Because you have to put more of the little number into the big number to divide it. Easy :)

Think about it logically. If you have 1 candy bar, how many half candy bars can make up one candy bar.

1 Candy bar/.5 candy bar = 2

2 half candy bars = 1 candy bar.

how many times can .5 fit into 1. 2 times.
