There is nothing to show for 5. the answer is the first one; one with parenthesis. It is the application of the associative property of multiplication.
6 is in the picture.

5) - 1/4 - 5/3 = - 1/4 + -5/3
You can ignore the plus if you are adding a negative
6) 1 7/8 ÷ 3/8
15/8 ÷ 3/8
15/8 × 8/3 = 15/3
15/3 = 5
