On number one:
5 - 2x = 3
-2x = 3 - 5
-2x = -2 (divide both sides by -2 to get x)
-2x/(-2) = -2/(-2)
x = 1

On the second one:

Simplifying 2(x + 1) = 9
Reorder the terms: 2(1 + x) = 9
(1 * 2 + x * 2) = 9
(2 + 2x) = 9

Solving 2 + 2x = 9
Solving for variable 'x'.

Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.
Add '-2' to each side of the equation.
2 + -2 + 2x = 9 + -2

Combine like terms: 2 + -2 = 0
0 + 2x = 9 + -2
2x = 9 + -2

Combine like terms: 9 + -2 = 7
2x = 7

Divide each side by '2'.
x = 3.5

Simplifying x = 3.5

On the Third problem:

Simplifying 8x + -5 = 2x + 25
Reorder the terms: -5 + 8x = 2x + 25
Reorder the terms: -5 + 8x = 25 + 2x

Solving -5 + 8x = 25 + 2x
Solving for variable 'x'.
Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '-2x' to each side of the equation. -5 + 8x + -2x = 25 + 2x + -2x
Combine like terms: 8x + -2x = 6x -5 + 6x = 25 + 2x + -2x

Combine like terms: 2x + -2x = 0
-5 + 6x = 25 + 0 -5 + 6x = 25

Add '5' to each side of the equation. -5 + 5 + 6x = 25 + 5
Combine like terms: -5 + 5 = 0
0 + 6x = 25 + 5
6x = 25 + 5

Combine like terms: 25 + 5 = 30
6x = 30
Divide each side by '6'. x = 5
Simplifying x = 5

Problem 1 (x) equals 1
Problem 2 (x) equals 3.5
Problem 3 (x) equals 5

Hope I helped you today

5-2x=3

move the 5 over and subtract form 3

-2x=-2

then divide x by the other number to find that x=1

3. 8x-5=2x+25

move the 5 over to the right side and add it to 25, and take 2x and subract it from 8x

6x=30

now you divide

x=5
