Glenda wrote 1/7 of her paper on Monday, 1/14 or her paper on Tuesday, and 2/28 of her paper on Wednesday. She said she wrote more than half of her paper. Is she correct? Why or why not?

Well to figure this problem out, first we need to figure out a common denominator for all these amounts, so what do you think would be the common denominator for 7 14 and 28

No, Glenda only wrote 2/7 of her paper.
Take 1/14 and divide by 2 on both the numerator and denominator to get 0.5/7.
Take 2/28 and divide by 3 on both the numerator and denominator to get 0.5/7.
This allows the fractions to all have the same denominator and they are now able to be added.
Once added, you will get 2/7.
