14x + 7y = 217 > lets solve for y first > so 14(0) + 7y = 217 > 7y = 217 > y = 7/217 > y = 31 > 14x + 7(0) = 217 > 14x = 217 > x = 14/217 > x = 15.5
Now but the 31 in the y place and the 15.5 in the x place and see if it matches up with 217
