4x + 3y = 26
x = 3/2y + 2

solving for y:

4 (3/2y + 2) + 3y = 26
6y + 8 + 3y = 26
9y + 8 =26
9y = 18
y = 2

solving for x:
x = 3/2(2) + 2
x = 3 + 2
x = 5

done.
**optional: use second equation to check
