A horse has 64 chromosomes and a donkey has 62. Using your knowledge of meiosis, evaluate why a cross between a horse and a donkey produces a mule, which usually is sterile. How would I explain this?

Answer - Since a Horse has a 64 chromosomes and a Donkey has 62 Chromosomes. The cross breed will be 31 chromosomes from the donkey and 32 from the horse, Which the outcome will be 63 in total because the species chromosomes and differences but also a similar within those lines. So its a sterile due to the off numbers.

(Usually its even. But in this case its odd)
