subtract 10 from both sides
528 = 14y + 10
-10 - 10
(the ten on the right cancels out)
518 = 14y is what your left with
divide 518 by 14y
518 = 14y
—— ——
14 14
518 divided by 14 is 37
therefore, y = 37

To solve for “y” you have to isolate it.
528= 14y + 10
1.) 528-10=14y + 10 - 10
2.) 518 = 14y
3.) 518/14 = 14y/14
4.) 37= y
Final answer is : y = 37
