Mr.Vectadore is buying two new cowboy hats. All together the hats cost $75.12. The second hat costs twice as much as the first hat. What is the price of the more expensive hat?

Let 'x' represent the cost of the first hat then the cost of the second hat is '2x'.

Altogether the hats cost $75.12:

x + 2x = 75.12

x = $25.04

2x = 2*25.04 = $50.08

The price of the more expensive hat is $50.08.
