What would you expect to happen if you rubbed a mineral of hardness 7.5 against a piece of quartz?

Quartz also has a hardness level of 7.5, so rubbing another mineral with a 7.5 will not affect it. Hope this helps

you would expect a scratch on the quartz since quartz is on a hardness scale of 7 and the mineral you are rubbing against it is at a hardness scale of 7.5
