since there is an unknown value you can call it x
therefore your equation would be
4x - 6 = 5
Hope This Helps

Let "x" be the mystery number
A product of 4 and this number = 4x
Six less that that = subtracting six from 4x
So the final equation is
4x-6=5
P.S.: x = 2.75
