Y= 5/38 and the decimal form for that is y= 0.131

Step 1: Subtract 8 from both sides.
5/4y+ 8− 8= 17.5− 8
5/4y = 9.5
Step 2: Multiply both sides by 4/5.
(4/5) * (5/4y) = (4/5) * (9.5)
y = 38/5
