Answer:

2/5 + 3/8 =

LCM of 5 and 8 is 40

=so 40 is divided by the denominator of the 1st fraction that is 5 ,you get 8 now multiply 8 by numerator that is 2 you will get 16.

And the same applies for 2nd fraction 40÷8=5 then 5 × 3 = 15

now you say 16 + 15/40(LCM) you get 31/40

the whole fraction is 40/40

40/40 -31/40

= 9/40

● so the answer is 9/40
