The Adding Associative Property

we always do what's in the parenthesis first!

1. 15+(5+8) and (15+5)+8

15+(5+8) = (15+5)+8

15+13 = 20+8

\boxed{28=28} (TRUE)

equivalent

2. (20-12)-3 and 20-(12-3)

8-3=20-9

\boxed{5=11}(FALSE)
\boxed{5 \\eq 11} not equivalent
