One railroad track was laid out on the line y = 8x - 2 by the engineers in charge. Which of the following lines could have been the other parallel track?

A. y = 2x - 8
B. y = -⅛x + 3
C. y = 4 + 8x
D. 2y = 8x + 3

because parallel lines have the same slopes, y=8x-2 the slope is 8, C has the same slope as y=8x-2, so it is parallel to it. If they have identical slopes, they are parallel

y = 8x - 2.....slope here is 8. A parallel line will have the same slope.

The other line would be : y = 4 + 8x (or y = 8x + 4).....because they both have the same slope, which makes the lines parallel to each other
