A student is raising money for a local food pantry. A local business agrees to match and donate an additional 15% of what the student raises, while the principal of the student's school also agrees to match 5% of what the student raises. If the student raises $380.00, how much will the food pantry receive?

Answer: The food pantry received $456.

Explanation:

Hi, to solve this problem we have to analyze the information given:

Student raises $380.00

Local business donates 15% of student raises.

Principal donates 5% of student raises.

So, we have to calculatethe value of the percentages donated:

$380 x 0.15 =57

$380 x 0.05= 19

Total of donations = 57 + 19 =76

Finally, we add the total donations to the money that the students raised.

380+ 76=456

In conclusion, the food pantry received $456.

Feel free to ask for more if it´s necessary or if you did not understand something.
